Where have we been????
Good heck it's hard to find time to get on the computer when you don't have the Internet at home. But now I have it available in house so hopefully I will be able to keep up on this now.. (I will at least try) We have had an...INTERESTING month.
On March 6th Daxten turned 2. I can't believe he is that big. It seems like he was just born and now he's big enough to fight with Kyler, Ride bikes, and carry on conversations.... Now we just need to get him potty trained.
Kyler turned 5 on March 15th. That really makes me feel old! he is going to play Spring soccer in the city league and will go to Kindergarten this Fall. He is such a smart little boy I can't tell him things in hopes that he will get side tracked and forget about them later. He remember EVERYTHING!! It's a good thing he got his dads Smarts and mom looks!
On Saturday the 14th we got up Extra early and headed to Tooele valley to watch Justin Launch the rocket him and different people are building for their Senior project. we had to be out to the middle of now where by 8:30am. I thought we would go launch and then leave but it took them til Noon to get everything set up and then 3 launches and it finally flew about 230pm. Kyler was so excited to watch daddy's rocket. they also had a bunch of smaller rockets that different groups were launching so it kept the kids entertained while we waited for dads to fly. Justin had been building the motor for his part of the Rocket. They are supposed to launch the rocket and get it as close to 1mile up as they can and land it with out breaking it. I can't remember how close they were to 1 mile but it was just a few feet over a mile. The team that's building the rocket flies out to Alabama for a competition with other schools. and the school that is supposed to be the best were 600 feet off of a mile. :) that's good news for the USU team. I wish Justin and all the other good luck out in Alabama!
After we got done with the rocket we went and seen Uncle Cody and aunt Rachelle ( my boys adore these 2) They gave the kids birthday presents and then we all went to Chucky Cheese for a birthday lunch. Kyler had a ball playing the games and Daxten loved to ride the Monster Truck.
I was going to burn my house down last week. It was awful! 1st i clogged my drain (on accident). we thought the drain was cleared but the clog just moved down the pipes and clogged the washer drain, so I stuck a snake down the pipes to see if i could get it cleared out and pulled mud out of my drain. PIPES BROKE! so i called the plumber he came by and when we looked in the trap door to go under the house 2feet of water! the outside water like had broken! so I had to vacuum as much water as I could out, we had to fix that broken pipe ourselves (save a little $$) then we had to let the door sit open for a few days to dry out so the plumber could get under the house to fix the original broken pipe. In the middle of this all happening one day my Water heater decided to DIE! so i could do Laundry (clogged drain) couldn't do dishes (broken pipe) and we could take a hot shower/or bath ( Water heater died) :( with all my hormones out of control I think I called my dad everyday having a melt down! I was so glad my parents live close enough I was able to wash a few loads of laundry so we could have clean underwear and a good hot shower for my self and a tubby for the boys! I don't know what we would have done if we didn't have family living close by! We survived this awful week and now I am caught up on dishes and laundry and haven't had a melt down in a few days! :)
On a happier less Melt down note we got a new camping trailer! it's 2001 but the people that we bought it from were an older couple so it's really in Great condition. and anything is better then the 1980 WELL USED trailer we used last year! I'm so excited to take it camping this year. Kyler was even more excited about it then me and Justin. I think if I would have had this trailer last week I'm afraid I may have really burned my house down! :)

I don't know what the heck is going on with my family but for some reason it's our time to have a few hurdles in our lives. On Jan 22nd Tavish and Shawn were in a roll over totaled tavish's truck, but both walked away ok. on Thursday afternoon Mom and Dad were in the car pileup down in beaver. It could have been worse, Dad walked away without any serious injuries. Mom was stuck in the car for about 1hr before EMT's could extricate her, then they transported her to beaver hospital. she spent the night and was released late friday. She is doing OK it definately could have been worse. I hated being home while she was so far away in the hospital, but the roads were not good for driving so we all stayed home. Thankfully Grandma and Grandpa were in St. George so they were able to go to the Hospital. When they get home if they have pictures with them I will try and post some.
PLEASE EVERYONE BUCKLE UP! in both accidents it could have been alot worse but they were all buckled up. Thank you to those Angels watching over my family!

I haven't blogged in a while. usually I write while I'm work and I've been pretty busy while I'm at work getting ready to move into the "NEW" Hospital. Except Today because I'm at work and Not all that busy. If you missed the tours of the new Hospital this weekend you will have to come stop by next week adn see it after we Officially open. it is so different then the Hospital we have now and for all of us that work here it's going to be a BIG adjustment. It's good for the community but it's sad for the friendships we have because we won't see EVERYBODY all the time anymore. IT will be a "BITTER SWEET" change.
Our lives have been pretty much routine for the last month. A few weeks ago we bought some used Paddle Tires for Kyler. After we bought them I told Kyler he can't use the tires until all the snow is melted and now EVERY DAY he asks if the snow has melted enough so he can go to the sand dunes with his new tires. He has found a new xtreme sport that facinates him. SNOWBOARDING.... he was watching the X-games with dad adn told me that he needs a snowboard. He is such a pansy most of the time but when it come to extreme sporta he is GAME! Daxten is getting so big I can't believe he will be 2 next month, him and Jager are both in the terrible 2's. It's funny because I don't know any better then a Boy in his terrible 2's and Shar is experiencing it for the first time and it's so funny to listen to her talk about raising a boy!
After Christmas I bought DDR (dance Dance Revolution) for the playstation. Kyler loves to Play it, and with his little short legs it's hilarious to watch him try to play. Ever since I bought it I've been begging Justin to Play but he is too "MANLY" :) to play a dance game. Well this last weekend Cody and Rachelle came up and we went to dinner with thema nd KArli and Jesse afterwards we went back to our house and played DDR Cody and Justin wouldn't play at 1st but Jesse would, and after they watched us have fun Justin finally gave in and Played. After he kept beating Jesse his competetive side kicked in and he was all about the dancing game! We finally talked Cody into trying and after losing to Justin just a few times his competetive side kicked in and he "Quit" with a comment like "THIS IS STUPID"!! :) I can't even tell you how much we laughed that night, we laughed while watching the boys play because they ARE NOT light on their feet at all and they about stomped a hole in my floor, we laughed when Cody QUIT because he is not a good LOOSER :) and Rachelle laughed at me and Karli causse she says we play the game funny. I have pictures but I've been threatened if they ever make it to the internet.
We are still counting down the days until garduation, I think we have about 83 Days left. WOOHOO!!!! I really want to get Justin a suprise that is FUN,Nice, and somehting he will use for a graduation gift but I have no Idea WHAT. So if you have any suggestions PLEASE HELP!!!
Hopefully everyone is getting along OK and surviving life!

So it's been a while since I posted anything.(at least I post more often then shar, JUNE?? I think) December has sure gone by fast.... I will just give you a few Highlights. On December 6th we had our Annual Rhodes Christmas party. I can't believe how big that side of my family is getting. I can't keep track everyone. It was fun to see all the cousins and see their families. Santa came to the party and gave put gifts and my Cute 5 going on 25 Niece saw Santa and gave him a Hug and then walked over to her mom and whispered "mom Santa looks like Papa Steve" :) (papa Steve is her other grandpa) she is too cute! so Shar had to explain that "papa Steve is just helping Santa because he is so busy!
Justin had Finals the 2nd week in December he survived them all and is getting ready to start his Last Semester of his Mechanical Engineering Bachelors Degree. I was so excited for it too be his last semester FOREVER, but he has other ideas. I am grateful he is so motivated.
Over the weekend of the 20th Cody and Rachelle came home for a Family Christmas party. We love when they come to visit. (I don't like the drama that seems to surround Cody though) We always have a good time with them. Too bad they are going to leave us :( Not so much Cody but I'm really bummed that Rachelle has to go too! :)
On to Christmas. Can't believe it's already come and gone. Christmas Eve was spent Me at work in the Morning and Justin and they boys home playing the PlayStation. Then we went to Grandma Jan's for a while, then to My parents house for our Christmas Eve Traditions . The boys loved their Christmas Jammies. Daxten got Mickey Mouse and Kyler Got Cars Jammies. I also Made blankets for my boys and Shar's kids they they opened on Christmas Eve.
Christmas Morning We woke the kids up at 7am. We had a full house while the boys opened Presents my parents, Justins parents, and Cody and Rachelle all came over bright and early to watch the boys. Kyler was so excited he opened all his presents and most of Daxtens, because Daxten Opened his 1st gift from Santa it was a remote control 4-wheeler and he decided that he didn't care much about anything else. :)
We had A GREAT HOLIDAY SEASON!! The Absolute Best part actually didn't happen until yesterday when my brother Shawn came home from his MISSION!! It was so exciting to have him come home. He left before Jager and Daxten were born so they met for the 1st time at the airport. Daxten went right to Shawn and gave him loves, Jager had to be woke up from a nap and was not in a good enough mood to give Shawn loves right off, but by the End of the night last night both boys were playing with Uncle Shawn like he had been around all along! The very cutest part of him coming home was when he was walking towards us and Brooklyn spotted him she dropped her sign she had made for him and ran as fast as she could and gave Uncle Shawn the biggest Hug I think she has ever given anyone! Kyler was glad to see Shawn but none of us was as Happy as Brooklyn and my MOM! WELCOME HOME SHAWN!!!
I have also posted just Random pictures below some are of Christmas and Others are just Random.

catching up.....
What a Crazy Month of November and already it has ended!! A few Highlights from November. On the 13th "papa Tim" had a birthday! On Saturday we took our kids along with Shar and Josh and their kids down to Disney on ice. Me and the Kids enjoyed it, I'm not so sure that the dads enjoyed it but they were good sports about it.
WE (when I say we I mean Justin) GOT A JOB!!!! what a relief..........I don't have to move away from HOME!! He was so excited when ATK offered him a job and they are going to count his internship as experience so he gets to start out at a higher pay :) He gets benefits right away which means I don't have to work my extra graveyard shift to get enough hours to cover insurance. YAY!!!!!! You wouldn't believe the smile Justin wore on his face for a few days after they offered him the job! I'm so proud of all his hard work and ambition. Speaking of ambition Justin has decided that he "Loves" school so much he is going to continue right on to his masters. The real ambition behind continuing school is that if he doesn't we will have to start paying on student loans, and he wants to get a new truck instead. So... A new Truck and More school is what he has chosen! What a silly man I think, but he has worked hard so he can have his new truck I guess.
DID YOU SEE TWILIGHT???? I LOVED IT! Karli, Jan, and I went and seen it on the Friday night after it came out. We bought our tickets a few weeks before and we went an hour early and still had to wait in line behind a bunch of people but we had good seats still. Although the book is much much better, I think they did a pretty good job with the movie. I was a little disappointed by some minor things and after I watched it I wanted to go back and read the 1st book again but I haven't.
Thanksgiving was Great. I had to work in the morning Which wasn't too bad, I did miss Dinner at grandma Jeans but the boys and Justin went out for a visit. Then They met me at moms when I got off and we visited there for a while then went to Grandma Jans and Visited with Cody and Rachelle. My kids absolutely adore Cody and Rachelle and Kyler waited all week for them to come.
BLACK FRIDAY..... any one else as Crazy as me?? I absolutely LOVE going shopping on BLACK FRIDAY. maybe it's the rush or maybe it's spending lots of money Who really knows but I do like to go. I dragged Justin along this year and I'm pretty sure this will be the 1 and only year he participates with me. He said next year he will just work overtime and we will pay full price for everything :) We were in Logan by 430AM and home by 9am. It was one of the shortest Black Friday shopping trips I have ever had, but I figured I wouldn't push my luck with Justin because he is so pleasant when he is tired and even more pleasant when he is Shopping. :0)
In Other news I need to congratulate "Uncle Cody" he got accepted into Dental school! We are so EXCITED for him and Rachelle but kinda bummed that they have to move away I will really miss them but it's hopefully only a few years then they can move back home......... (Hows the Spelling Cody, Hopefully I spelled things funny just for your amusement).
I hope everyone Had a Great Thanksgiving, and Is getting ready for Christmas.

Not much has gone on in the Christensen Zoo this week. Grandma Jan had a birthday. Justin Registered for his LAST Semester of school (unless he decides to do a masters) that's quite a mile stone for us. My stress can ease a bit. ATK offered Justin a Job INTERVIEW, I'm hoping it goes good. GOOD LUCK BABE! His other interview on Thursday went good he thinks. They will let him know something this week. My ultimate wish would be for Justin to get both job offers then we can decide which would be a better job for him and give him the best experience possible & I would like to have the choice if we move or not. ( I probably would choose to stay home) but to have the choice would make moving easier I think. Although If we do move for this job he interviewed for I have herd that there is a GREAT hamburger place there. ;) (thanks april). I have slowly come to terms with reality that I may have to move, but the more I think about it the more I am Ok with the possibility I guess will see how good I really feel when it happens.

well my stress about Justin applying for jobs out of state has been for good reason..... He called me from school Thursday and said that next Friday he has an interview with a company out in California (they are coming to campus to do interviews) ..... I know I know it's just an Interview.......... but still! Maybe it's a good thing, maybe if they offer him a job he can use it to do some bargaining with ATK. Who knows. Some things I'm ok with not knowing what the future will hold, but this is my Family, this is MY LIFE... and not knowing for sure where I will be 7 months .....that's very unsettling. SO I'm trying my very best to have a good attitude and just prepare the best I can for the UNKNOWN. I looked up the city that this company is in and the 1st website said EPODUNK! well that sounds about like where we are living now maybe this place wouldn't be so bad..... UMMMM then I got to looking and No public school in that specific town (must really be PODUNK) but there is some in the county so I started looking into housing and the cost of living.. a 3 bed 2 bath......$400,000............WHAT!!!! and it's not even new homes!! so after that I stopped looking and thought it's just an INTERVIEW. I did think about it and I guess nobody knows REALLY what the future will hold because life can change in an instant, but still I can't even plan for anything because EVERYTHING is uncertain... Maybe I better wait til he starts considering job offers before I start researching places my family could be moving to..... I need to find something to be obsessive about to keep my mind off of the unknown and to make me feel like i am somewhat in control , cause right now everything seems to be uncontrollable and I like to have a bit of control.
On another note, we got some carpet laid last Saturday in our living room and it was used but some people Jan knows were just going to throw it out and it was in much better shape then the carpet I had and only 2yrs old, and I LOVE IT!!! I wasn't so sure about the color but I painted my walls and then after the carpet was in the whole room I really liked it. :) So to me it's New carpet and I only had to pay to get it laid, what a great deal we got! I'm sure Craig will love to come lay carpet for us anytime becuase while he was laying our carpet our new neighbor across the street that I have no idea who she is.. Was out in the front yard kissing her sleep over friend which was also a girl... lets just say I'm glad my boys aren't old enough to notice things like that becuase that is one conversation i'm not sure i'm prepared to have. Although I am having to have that conversation with my very CURIOUS husband.... GOTTA LOVE MEN!! :)
I hope everyone had a HAPPY HALLOWEEN! we did! I will hopefully have pictures posted soon!

Busy weekend
The tradition continues.... For as long as I can remember we have gone out to lunch and shopping for Grandma's, shar's and my Birthdays. This last Friday we went shopping unfortunately Grandma is already in St.George so she didn't come with us but we called her and sang Happy Birthday to her. I've always heard people talk about retail therapy but I don't get to go shopping much especially with out 2 little boys, and let me tell you that Retail Therapy is REAL! I spent moms money (birthday money), found some killer deals, and by the End of the day I felt like a whole new woman! The bad economy is great for shoppers! Happy Birthday to Shar and Grandma Alice!!!
Friday evening was interesting. when I got home from shopping Kyler wanted to ride his 4-wheeler so I agreed but only until dinner was ready. When I sent Justin out to get him Kyler would slow down just long enough for dad to think he was going to stop then hit the gas a swerve around him Laughing as he flew by his dad. I sat in the kitchen and laughed hysterically. After a little while I thought I'll show him so I went out walked in front of Kyler expecting him to stop cause he usually does for me..... and guess what i was made a fool of by my 4yr old. he drove right by me turning in circles and going around the tramp so I couldn't' get him either. I got just close enough I thought I would be able to grab the brake and stop him. I got a hold of the brake but he didn't stop and it cut my finger. (OUCH!) I gave up after that and figured he could just starve!! IT was pretty funny though. we just had some new neighbors move in across the street and of course they were all out side and if I was those neighbors I would have been laughing my ass off at us! so FINALLY Kyler came in and walked up to me laughing put his had over his mouth and said " I was funny mom" It was hard to be mad cause it was funny. but what a noddy boy.. My hand are more then full With him. :)
GO UTES!!!
I can't remember the last time me and Justin got to spend the day just us 2 hanging out together.... but we got to on Saturday. We dropped the kids off at moms and headed down to a UTES game. Justin loves Collage Football and the only other thing that would have made his day even better was if we would have went to a game at Memorial Stadium instead or Rice-Eccles. the game was a blast! Utes kicked butt and my throat was so dry after from screaming. :) After the game we went to Toys R us and did a little Christmas shopping........ can you believe Christmas shopping!!! but with me working every weekend and Justin going to school all week this was about the only day we had together to shop. Then dinner at Olive Garden YUM YUM!! before we headed home we drove to Troy and Cami's (Justin's aunt and Uncle) too see their new baby boy RYKER. He is soo cute! It almost made me want to have another baby. :)
What a fun day we had just us 2 . I'm sure my mom was so grateful when we got home last night. 12hours with my kids will ware anyone out, but for a few of the last hours she had shars kids too. What a good mom we have!
Reality
well now that Graduation is in the near future we have to start thinking about what we are going to do and where we are going to be in the future. Which if you know how much I love change you know this is not a good topic for me. But it is reality and so the inevitable begins. While I hope that ATk will offer Justin a job after he is done with his internship it is not guaranteed so we have to plan as if they don't and think about other jobs. I have always just denied reality and thought as though we would be living here all our lives and raising our kids here, but despite my denial the possibility of NOT living here is slowly setting in........ Justin has officially applied to many jobs outside of Utah. I'm not sure what to think about it. It would be good to have to rely on each other and rely on myself. I would really miss having my Mom and Jan so close, I depend on them ALOT! I don't know how I would react or how I would handle myself if we do ever move, but the thought and the reality of it are now on my mind. I suppose I shouldn't worry too much until he gets a job offer or ATK tells him NO JOB. The 3 biggest things that worry me about moving are (1) MY KIDS how would they react not having grandparents and cousins so close, how will it affect their futures. (2) FAMILY what will I do with out Mom and Jan, would we be able to come home for holidays, and What small family memories won't we be apart of. (3) my job. Not very often do we find jobs that we enjoy or have co-workers that become our friends. I love my job, I love most of my co-workers, and I like working. If we move I won't work because I won't have Mom and Jan to Babysit.
Well Enough worrying...... I guess.... Hope all is well with everyone.

So...... I tried nad tried to get a countdown on here and it always said the gadget was broken!! so I tried a few more things (i'm not computer smart at all) and I Finally got it posted but not like I wanted...... Oh well!! so now I can say 208 days til Graduation!!!
On another note don't you just LOVE the rain, not so much the cold but the rain I just love. It makes me want to put some comfy sweats on, make home made chicken noodle soup, cuddle in a blanket and watch a movie (even if it is a disney one so my kids will watch it too). Then the smell I like to open my windows and smell the rain. It's such a refreshing smell. A good way to think about such a gloomy looking day! Hope you all are enjoying the rain too!

After my last post I guess I better write a nice one :) since that awful day the boys have been pretty good. I must have fed them the wrong breakfast that day!!
The other day Me and the boys made a quick trip Autozone to get some parts ordered for dad. They had to be ordereed by 1:00 and we arrived in the parking lot at 12:50. nothing like cutting it close. So after Autozone I decided to take Kyler to Vessco's so he could check out all the 4-wheelers. as soon as he walked through the doors he put his hands on his hips and said "MOM" in the most amazed voice then 1 finger to his lips and said "we can buy all of them" :) he walked around slowly and checked each one out then went back to where he started and had to sit on every single one of them. My 4 year old has a serious obsession with 4-wheelers. If you know Justin very well and his family it's not too suprising why Kyler is so obsessed. You should see him on his 4wheeler. It makes me a nervous wreck to watch him, but it makes dad proud to see Kyler doing Tricks and riding as fast as he can around the yard. If I can figure out how to get video from my camera to the computer I will post Video then you all can see why It makes me nervous to watch him! (i got some downloaded) I'm just waiting for the day when I have to take him to the ER with a broken bone and my ER nurses will shake their heads and think " Kyler again.........." :)
Hopefully this makes some sense but it's 2:30 am and I am exhausted. But I have to stay awake for another 45mins cause i'm at work right now and I don't get to leave til 3:00am. GRAVEYARD :( there is a whole other post about what a baby I am about graveyards! but not today maybe on my next graveyard :) I just had to share my story about Kyler and his love to see and ride 4wheelers.
Here are some videos.

Just another day!
Today I'm giving away my 2 boys!!! anyone want them?? :) Just another day at the christensen Zoo and MOMMY has had ENOUGH......
Kyler has done everything in his power to torment Daxten all day.. and while Daxten was down for a nap he found it hilarious to Torment Abby (our new puppy)...
Tonight is going to be a "GO TO BED EARLY" night so mom can find some Sanity and mentally prepare for tomorrow :) To think justin wants to ADD another Wild creature to the Christensen Zoo.............. TOO BAD!! (maybe by next week, month or 6months..) but then on days when my boys are just so much fun I think it's wouldn't be too bad to have a 3rd.

About us....

I'm not very good at writing so I will pretend and tell you about US. (as if you already didn't know about us if you are reading this).
Well Justin has 71/2 more months of College after 5 years of school and Working full time we are both so relieved to see the light at the end of this long tunnel. He has worked so hard for our family I'm glad it is going to pay off for him soon. Right now he is doing an Engineering Internship at ATK (Thiokol) He loves it! They have been good to him and liked him enough they extended his summer internship through December! we are hoping to get a job after graduation then we will definitely won't have to move. Although if Cody and Rachelle move away for Dental school Maybe Justin can find a job close to them so I at least could have some family away from home. ( if we don't get a job at ATK) But with any luck we can stay Right here in our content environment of Garland :) I have worked as a CNA for 5 years. I work in Labor and Delivery at Bear River Valley Hosp, and I also started working as an ER clerk last year. The hours are Horrible and I don't like working Holidays but I do LOVE my jobs so I keep on showing up for work!. It's hard to have a job and raise kids but thanks to my Mom for babysitting I am able to work. I've decided since Justin started this semester and I've spent more days at home during the week and working all weekends, I am a much better mommy when I work. It's like a mental break from Backyardigans, Race cars, and the 2 little terrorists I love so much.

Our 2 boys Kyler and Daxten are OUR world. Although they cause us great stress most days I can't imagine life with out them. Kyler Just started his 2nd year of Pre-school, HE loves Miss Marci, and she has great patience to deal with my Kyler last year and let him come back again for another year. His best friend Brookie Marie

has kept him in line this year and I think that has helped Miss Marci Alot! Kyler loves his 4-wheeler. He is better at riding then I am, but the passion for riding is in his blood thanks to Grandpa D and Dad. Daxten is a Funny little boy he will be 2 in March. He is a very intense little boys but he has to be with Kyler as an older brother:) Daxten thinks he is every bit has old as kyler and tries to do everything kyler does. Daxten Learns everything Good and BAD from Kyler then he turns around and teaches his
Partner in Crime and favorite cousin Jager all the Bad. Shar Loves it when Daxten shows Jager Noddy things! Although my kids are a little more wild then hers it's nice to have Cousins so close to their age that they can Play with. That's the basics for now. I will write more when I figure this Blogging stuff out.... Thanks for reading!
